“If your life is an uphill slope, set your sails to catch God’s power. ” Woodrow Kroll
Do you have ability? Where does that come from? Can you count on it as a constant thing? The word ability means: power to perform, possession of enough strength or skill to accomplish a given task. Fitness to do, with the power to do.
God gave us the tools through His precious son Jesus
If you are a born again believer- a new creature in Christ Jesus (II Cor. 5:17-21) and have the power of the Holy Spirit operative in your life, then you have ability, and it is God-empowered ability. It remains as a constant, steady, ever-present part of you because God is constant, steady and ever-present in us.

God gives us ability
Why does God give us ability? The eternal kind? It is part of His nature that He has infused into us. At our re-birth, when we acted on His Word, and allowed that Word to re-create us, and He took up His abode within-that ability became a permanent part of us-of our nature (John 14:23). We are partakers of His Divine Nature (II Peter 1:4). What does His ability enable us to do? It makes us ABLE. Able to partake of all that He is. Able to be healed. Able to remain steady in our thought and our authority in the Earth (Mark 16:15-20). Able to walk in the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-25). Able to remain stable and fixed (Psalm 91:1). Able to show forth the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light (I Peter 2:9). Able to be ministers of the New Covenant (II Cor. 3:6)

I don’t feel able!
What if we do not feel able? What if we do not feel qualified? How do we get that built-in ability to show itself in our everyday living?
- Be aware we have it. He said we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil. 4:13). Therefore, because God said it- and after all- He is the supreme authority over all-then submit to His statement that we can-because He is!
- Step out on His Word and expect Him to show Himself might on our behalf (Joel 2:11).
- Do not be hindered by how mammoth the job may seem-we are not moved by what we see-only by what we believe, and we believe God! (II Cor. 5:7, Rom. 1:17)
- Watch Him fulfill His Word. Watch Him move in our lives by His Spirit when we allow Him full freedom on His Word. (Is. 55:10-11)
- Step forward on His ability (remember, it is your, too) and ably received healing! (Psalm 107:19-20)
- Ably speak His Word concerning situations and remove your shoes as you stand in awe on that Holy ground and see Him do what His covenant says He will do. (Gen. 17:1-2, Gal. 3:13-14)
- Ably go into all your world and preach the Good News of His love and compassion. (Mark 16:15-20, Matt. 10:7-8)
- Ably use the Name of Jesus, and His authority. (Mark 13:34, Mark 16:17)
- Able trust Him to protect you, and to guide you. (Psalm 91)
- Ably trust His love-it will never fail! (I John 4:7-11, I Cor. 13:13)
You are able because He is ABLE!
The words that you just read were written in 1980 by the late Rev. Pat Carver. God’s Word is timeless, it applies today just as it did more that forty years ago. In our times when we need supernatural ability, may we depend on God’s timeless ability! Selah!
