Youth pastor rapes teen boy to ‘cure’ homosexuality

Youth pastor rapes teen boy to ‘cure’ homosexuality October 16, 2014

Using threats of “black magic,” a youth pastor in Kentucky repeatedly raped a teen boy, claiming the sexual abuse would cure the teen of homosexual tendencies.

Kentucky police have arrested Polly Ann Church of God youth pastor Rex Allen Murphy after a 16-year-old male came forward to say he was being sexually abused by the youth pastor and Sunday school teacher.

Murphy, 30, was booked into Pulaski County jail on Tuesday on felony charges including sodomy, sexual abuse, and use of a minor in a sexual performance.

According to reports, Murphy sexually abused the 16-year-old boy, and threatened to kill him with witchcraft if he reported the abuse to anyone.

The alleged sexual abuse happened at the church and at the suspect’s home for a period of at least six months.

Eubank Chief of Police Colin Hatfield explained to WKYT that Murphy had threatened the boy with witchcraft if he told his parents about the abuse:

The victim stated that the suspect told him on numerous occasions that by brushing his skin or shaking his hand…he could tell his sins by the power he has. He comes from family of warlocks….

He was very scared, because the suspect, in the victim’s eyes, had been threatening his life in the form of Wicca, witchcraft, black magic.

Chief Hatfield reports that Murphy “did in fact confess to the allegations,” but he denied that the references to witchcraft were meant as a threat.

In an interview with police, Murphy asserted that he “thought he would be able to help the victim with his battle with homosexuality because he, too, had experimented with homosexuality.”

Police believe there may be more victims. If you have information about Murphy you are asked to call the Eubank Police at 606-425-1490.
