Dubious distinction: Despite desperate attempts to promote his new movie via social media, Kirk Cameron’s “Saving Christmas” is officially the worst movie of all time.
According to IMDb, “the world’s most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content,” Cameron’s desperate and pathetic cinematic attempt to win the War on Christmas, and give those naughty atheists the spanking they deserve, is the biggest bomb of all time.
How do you get to be worst film ever? According to IMDb, to even appear in the Bottom 100 Titles, a film needs at least 1500 votes. “Stealing Christmas” is at the very bottom of the list.
Indeed, there seems to be an almost unanimous consensus that “Saving Christmas” is not just a bad movie, but a hideous and dreadful movie, painful to sit through.
In addition to winning the dubious honor of worst film ever on IMDb, the film also has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and has been decimated by the critics.
The IMDb rating comes from stars awarded by users such as this commenter who posted the following review:
“This movie is horrendous on so many levels – patronising to Christians, incredibly bad plot and direction, the acting and dialogue is as comfortable as a dentist’s visit. I suspect the whole thing is purely a desperate attempt by Cameron to pander to under-educated Christians in an effort to earn their hard earned dollars. Either that, or it is just a giant ego trip for him. I had no preconceptions before I went to watch this, and left confused as to the amount of utter garbage wedged into what seemed like an eternity of boredom. Even worse, he is asking his Christian supporters to bear false witness by skewing the votes here and on rotten tomatoes. Hypocritical? I’ll let you decide.”
Since becoming a born-again Christian at the tender age of 17, Cameron has become well-known for promoting his controversial, conservative Christian beliefs.
