In an act of compassion members of The Satanic Temple are offering to escort Muslims who are afraid to leave their home out of fear of a growing anti-Muslim backlash resulting from the Paris terrorist attacks.
The Satanic Temple Minneapolis Chapter posted a message on its Facebook page and website, offering to accompany any Muslim person who may be afraid to leave their home following the backlash many in the community have faced since the terrorist attacks in Paris.
The Satanic Temple Minneapolis Chapter recently posted the following to their Facebook page:
If there is anyone in the Minneapolis area who is Muslim and afraid to leave their home out of fear for some kind of backlash, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We would be glad to escort you where you need to go without advertising our presence – just big dudes walking you where you need to be. We would also happily accompany you so you can get some groceries.
Several Muslim commenters have responded with appreciation. One commenter on Facebook wrote:
I don’t live in Minneapolis, but as an American Muslim, I’m glad to see you guys take up this effort and help out a marginalized group. Thank you for doing this and building bridges between communities.
Another commenter posted the following to the San Jose chapter’s page:
I am Muslim and thank you for your kind offer. It’s really heartening and reflective of how humans should treat each other. You are a reflection of kindness.
Kudos to the Satanists for reaching out to fellow humans in their time of need. If only more Christians could follow the compassionate example of these Satanists, this world would be a better place.
