Trump Wants To Prohibit Muslims From Entering U.S. December 7, 2015

Fanning right-wing, anti-Muslim hysteria, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump calls for a “complete and total ban” on Muslims entering the United States.

In a dramatic gesture GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump says he wants to halt all Muslim immigration to the United States.

In a statement released by his campaign Monday, Trump said he is calling for a “complete and total ban” on Muslims entering the United States, noting that his proposal comes in response to the level of hatred among “large segments of the Muslim population” toward Americans.

In the statement Trump said:

Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine.

Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life. If I win the election for President, we are going to Make America Great Again.”

Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said Trump’s proposed ban would apply to all Muslims, including Muslims seeking immigration visas as well as Muslim tourists seeking to enter the country.

The bad new is that Trump’s bellicose flirtations with fascism driven by anti-Muslim hysteria is working, as Trump continues to dominate the GOP presidential race.

Indeed, Trump’s over the top anti-Muslim rhetoric is nothing new.

Last month the GOP presidential front runner said he is open to registering U.S. Muslims in a database or giving them special identification identifying their faith, something Nazi Germany did to Jewish citizens leading up to the holocaust (Hitler’s Third Reich required Jews to wear a yellow badge resembling the Star of David).

In addition, Trump was calling for the closure of mosques back in October, long before the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Bottom line: Many conservative Republicans are angry, frightened, and dumb. And Trump has proven to be a master at manipulating that fear, anger, and stupidity to his own political advantage.
