It turns out Donald Trump really wants to use nuclear weapons.
During a foreign policy briefing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump asked a foreign policy adviser three times why he couldn’t just use nuclear weapons to solve the nation’s problems, according to a report filed by MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.
Scarborough told a stunned panel Wednesday morning that when Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump met with an unnamed national security expert earlier this year, he repeatedly asked why the U.S. couldn’t use its nuclear weapons stockpile.
Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can’t we use them.
A discouraged Scarborough continued:
He just doesn’t have foreign policy experts around him.
The remark was met with several moments of ominous silence. Scarborough’s co-host, Mika Brzezinski, eventually commented:
Be careful, America. And be careful, Republican leaders; your party is blowing up.
Indeed, Trump is a nightmare: a spoiled, self-centered child, who looks at nuclear weapons the same way a child looks at a toy that needs to be played with. It is at once both horrific and comical.
Make America Great Again? No. Trump’s new campaign slogan: Apocalypse Now.
