Toxic religion: Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt loves Jesus, and believes that church is the best place for a mass shooting.
Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt is taking comfort in the fact that 26 people lost their lives in a horrific mass shooting in Texas because they lost their lives while attending church.
During an interview with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Earhardt said:
We’ve been reporting this shouldn’t happen in a church. But I was downstairs talking with some people that work here that we all talk about our faith and we share the same beliefs. We were saying there’s no other place we would want to go other than church. Because I’m there asking for forgiveness. I feel very close to Christ when I’m there. So, I’m trying to look at some positives here and know that those people are with the Lord now and experiencing eternity and no more suffering, no more sadness anymore.
Is she putting lipstick on a pig? Using lemons to make lemonade? Or is she just an idiot? Is it really necessary to try to find “some positives” about the deadliest church shooting in U.S. history? A shooting where, “according to the most recent reports, approximately half of the 26 people killed in Sunday’s shooting were children.”
Earhardt is no stranger to controversy. Previously the Fox News host made the ridiculous claim that the massacre in Las Vegas was caused by atheism. At the time Earhardt said:
His brother said he didn’t believe in God, or didn’t have a God, or didn’t have faith in his life, so maybe this is all speculation, but that possibly could be the reason, because he knows country musicians or country music fans are normally pro-God and go to church on Sundays. Maybe he has a problem with that or had a problem with that.
Of course, Earhardt was wrong, and merely slandering atheists and other freethinkers with her outrageous speculation. In fact, the Las Vegas shooter seemed to be motivated by the love of guns more than anything else.
Bottom line: In a sad and desperate attempt to make sense of the tragic events at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt said something stupid, and insensitive, by suggesting that church is the best place for a mass shooting.
