More of that Christian love: This weekend ultra-conservative Baptists will be hosting a “Make America Straight Again” conference calling for the public execution of LGBT people.
The conference is being held to coincide with the anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting that left dozens dead and many more injured.
New NIFB Cult reports:
Several congregations from the New Independent Fundementalist Baptist Church (the NIFB) will host their “Make America Straight Again” conference at the location and on the anniversary of the PULSE Nightclub shooting.
A group of far-right conservative pastors from churches around Central Florida are organizing a conference they’re calling Make America Straight Again, coinciding both with LGBTQ+ Pride month, as well as the same week as the three-year anniversary of the brutal mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.
The Advocate reports:
Ministers who cheer the execution of gays will rally in a community where LGBTQ people were massacred three years ago.
Pastor Patrick Boyle of Revival Baptist Church, one of the churches hosting the “Make America Straight Again” conference in Central Florida this weekend, explained that the conference will feature ministers who have already been known to “make a vocal stance against sodomites and their filth that they have been spreading to the homes and families across the world and the United States of America.”
Noting that the conference is timed to Gay Pride Week in Orlando, Pastor Boyle declared:
They will be out and proud of who they are and daring someone to say something, and we’re going to go ahead and take them up on it. This conference is going to be explaining our view, or rather God’s view, on it.
Condemning gays as sodomites, Pastor Boyle declared:
They are beyond reach, the Sodomites. We are not trying to reach them. We are trying to warn society that if we embrace that, you are going to lose your children … The schools are telling them it’s an alternative lifestyle choice.
In yet another video promoting the “Make America Straight Again” conference Pastor Boyle makes clear his theological position concerning gays, declaring:
The Bible says they (gay people) are worthy of death.
The conference speakers include well known Christian-hate monger Pastor Steven Anderson, who celebrated the Orlando nightclub shooting by calling it “good news” and claiming that “homosexuals are a bunch of disgusting perverts.”
Reporting on the conference, New NIFB Cult notes:
The NIFB (New Independent Fundementalist Baptist Church) are vocal proponents for not only bigotry against and marginalization of the LGBTQ+ community, but also for government-enacted capital punishment of its members.
For this reason they have chosen to hold their conference in Orlando during Pride month on the Anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting to not only publicly celebrate the anniversary of the tragic deaths of the 49 people who lost their lives that weekend, but to advocate for more. (The NIFB’s own promotional video for this conference can be found here.)
This specific religious sect are vocal regarding their ownership of weapons and ammunition, as well as their proficiency in their usage. They also reference their familiarity with both conceal-and-carry and stand-your-ground legislation in the state of Florida, raising serious concerns that there may be violent escalations during their planned public activities surrounding the PULSE anniversary.
Bottom line: This weekend ultra-conservative Baptists will celebrate the Pulse nightclub shooting at the ‘Make America Straight Again’ conference while calling for the public execution of LGBT people.
