Stupid for Jesus: Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick blames a lack of prayer in school and video games for the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas.
In an interview with Fox & Friends, Patrick ignored the exponential growth of white nationalism and racism under the leadership of Donald Trump and the GOP, instead the conservative Republican politician made the tired and thoroughly debunked notion that a lack of school prayer and video games are responsible for the recent mass shooting in El Paso that left 20 people dead and many more injured.
In the interview Patrick suggested that the federal government should “do something about the video game industry,” declaring:
How long are we going to ignore — at the federal level particularly — where they can do something about the video game industry. In this manifesto that we believe is from the shooter, this manifesto where he talks about living out his super soldier fantasy on Call of Duty. We know the video game industry is bigger than the movie and music industry combined…. We’ve always had guns and evil but what’s changed where we’ve seen this rash of shootings… I see a video game industry that teaches young people to kill.
We won’t let our kids even pray in our schools… We need to look at all of this and who we are and as long as we continue to only praise God and look at God on a Sunday morning and kick him out of the town square at our schools the other six days of the week, what do we expect? What do we expect? There’s no excuse for this. We condemn it totally but as a nation we have to look at this and leave all of the politics out of it.

Children are being massacred because … they’re not praying in school????
This is a repugnant dodging of reality and responsibility.

Bottom line: A dishonest and deplorable Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick blames a lack of prayer in school and video games for mass shootings.
