Lock Them Up: Los Angeles County has filed a lawsuit against Grace Community Church, a suburban Los Angeles megachurch that has been holding indoor services for thousands with no masks and no social distancing, in defiance of local health orders banning large indoor gatherings.
Los Angeles Times reports:
A church that has gained national attention in recent weeks for repeatedly defying state and county orders by holding indoor services is the subject of a countersuit filed Thursday by Los Angeles County.
The suit was filed in L.A. County Superior Court against Grace Community Church and Pastor John MacArthur for violating the county health officer’s order, which in mid-July prohibited indoor operations in various sectors, including places of worship.
The Hill reports:
Los Angeles County has sued an area megachurch after it blatantly broke the state’s mandate on large social gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic, after it had sued the county in an attempt to get the restrictions lifted.

In a statement the county explained:
The County took this action reluctantly, after working with the church for several weeks in hopes of gaining voluntary compliance with the Health Officer Orders, which allow for religious services to be held outdoors in order to slow the spread of a deadly and highly contagious virus.
Earlier this week, Grace Community Church officials filed suit against L.A. County public health officials, as well as Gov. Gavin Newsom, Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and other California health officials over the lockdown order.
CNN reports that last Sunday the church held services with approximately 6,000 or 7,000 people in attendance with no social distancing and very few masks.
That’s right, 6,000 or 7,000 gullible idiots risking their health and the health of everyone they come across in the name of ignorance and religious superstition.
Trying to defend his deplorable actions that placed thousands of lives at risk, Grace Community Church Pastor John MacArthur tried to demonize the public health restrictions, claiming that Satan was trying “to silence the Church.”
Bottom line: Los Angeles County has filed a lawsuit against Grace Community Church, a suburban Los Angeles megachurch that has been holding indoor services for thousands with no masks and no social distancing, in defiance of local health orders banning large indoor gatherings.
