Pro-Death: More than 176,000 people in the U.S. are dead from COVID-19, and 57% of Republicans polled say that number is “acceptable.”
A majority of Republicans surveyed in a national poll believe the number of deaths from the coronavirus is “acceptable,” and hold positive views of the US response to the pandemic.
USA Today reports:
Americans view the severity of the coronavirus pandemic and the effectiveness of the government’s response through a very partisan lens, a CBS News/YouGov poll released Sunday found.
More than 176,000 people in the U.S. have died from COVID-19. According to the poll, a 57% majority of registered Republican voters think that number is “acceptable,” compared with 31% of voters overall. Ninety percent of Democrats and 67% of independents said the death toll was “unacceptable.”
The Hill reports:
A CBS News-YouGov poll determined that 57 percent of Republican respondents said the U.S. death toll for COVID-19 has been “acceptable,” while 43 percent said it was “not acceptable.” Republicans were the only partisan group of which a majority of voters said the number of deaths has been acceptable.
In short, the Pro-Fetus, Forced-Birth party is not “pro-life,” despite the many claims made to the contrary.
The following is a sample of reactions to the GOP’s callous and cruel response to the pandemic:
57% of Republicans think the level of death from the coronavirus is acceptable.
This seems to be further evidence of a fascist plurality in the GOP. pic.twitter.com/6oeTPUxQR7

57% of Republicans think 176,000 deaths from coronavirus is acceptable? I can’t fathom how that is “acceptable.”
And how many respondents consider themselves “pro life”? Pro life means reverencing all lives, not just those of the unborn. That includes these 176,000 souls. pic.twitter.com/WXT2Gmobdg

A CBS poll indicates that 57% of Republicans believe the 176k Coronavirus deaths to be “acceptable” losses.
It’s been clear for decades that the GOP is fine with letting the most vulnerable people in our nation suffer & die unnecessarily, but this is still stark & disgusting. pic.twitter.com/c4pMyX6gDH

57% of Republicans were lying when they yelled “All Lives Matter.” https://t.co/7LX66X665V

The 57% of Republicans who think that 176,000 COVID-19 deaths are acceptable are the SAME very fine “people” who thought 4 Benghazi deaths were too many.

The fact that a majority of Republicans are not troubled by the fact that over 170,000 Americans are dead because of the Trump administration’s gross incompetence speaks volumes about the state of the nation.
Bottom line: More than 176,000 people in the U.S. are dead from COVID-19, and 57% of Republicans polled say that number is “acceptable.”
