Crimes Against Humanity: The parents of 545 children ruthlessly separated from their family by the Trump administration can’t be found according to recently released court documents.
NBC News reports:
Lawyers appointed by a federal judge to identify migrant families who were separated by the Trump administration say that they have yet to track down the parents of 545 children and that about two-thirds of those parents were deported to Central America without their children, according to a filing Tuesday from the American Civil Liberties Union.
Despite a federal judge’s order that the government reunite families who had been separated at the U.S.-Mexico border under the Trump administration’s “no tolerance” migration policy, the parents of 545 children still can’t be found, according to a court document filed Tuesday by the U.S. Justice Department and the American Civil Liberties Union.
Previously the Trump administration said it could not reunite missing migrant children with their families because “it would require too much effort to reunite migrant children with their parents.”
Commenting on the horrific story, Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project, who has been leading the litigation fight to reunite the children with their parents, said:
What has happened is horrific. Some of these children were just babies when they were separated. Some of these children may now have been separated for more than half their lives. Almost their whole life, they have not been with their parents.
Progressive Secular Humanist previously reported that many of the migrant children ruthlessly separated from their family by the Trump administration had been shipped to Bethany Christian Services, a Christian adoption agency with ties to the family of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
In fact, there is already a huge and thriving business in the trafficking of children via Christian adoption agencies like the DeVos connected Bethany.
In her 2013 book, The Child Catchers: Rescue, Trafficking, and the New Gospel of Adoption, Kathryn Joyce documents this alarming trend of conservative Christians adopting children removed from their natural parents via nefarious means to feed the business of Christian adoption and serve the agenda of Christian theocracy.
Bottom line: In what can only be described as “state-sponsored kidnapping” and “crimes against humanity,” the parents of 545 children ruthlessly separated from their family by the Trump administration can’t be found according to recently released court documents.
