Good Riddance: A Florida teacher has been fired after telling students that Antifa was responsible for the terrorist assault on the U.S. Capitol.
A Florida teacher was filmed falsely telling students “Antifa” was responsible for the January 6 Capitol riots.
The substitute teacher is “no longer with” Edward W. Bok Academy South or Lake Wales Charter Schools (LWCS), the HR director at LWCS confirmed to Insider.
A Florida substitute teacher who was caught on video telling students Antifa was responsible for the Capitol riot has been fired … TMZ has learned.
Dr. Damien Moses, principal at Bok Academy in Lake Wales, FL., tells TMZ … the teacher’s conduct was immediately dealt with following the incident from earlier this week. Moses said, “We met with her and she has been dismissed not only from our school, but also from the Lake Wales Charter School System.”
Your Tango reports:
A central Florida substitute teacher — whose name has yet to be confirmed — was caught on video spreading misinformation about the Capitol riots in the classroom, even after respectfully challenged by one very brave student in her classroom.
The clip, which is just over two minutes long, takes place during a language arts class at Edward W. Bok Academy South in Lake Wales, Florida.
Commenting on the story, Damien Moses, the principal of Bok Academy South in Lake Wales, released the following statement:
We understand there’s a video released and shared on social media of an incident on our campus. Our administration is aware. The substitute is no longer employed at our school, nor within the LWCS system.

In the video, the teacher claims:
The supporters arrived, and suddenly there was violence. Already, three of those have been identified as Antifa members that were in the building.
(Note: this claim is false. Insider reports: There’s no evidence “Antifa” was responsible for violence during the Capitol riots.)
The teacher continues:
We’ve had trouble with this all summer long. There are peaceful demonstrations, we’re fine, until a bunch of antifa members showed up and started violence. This is just another example. They were paid to be there, they were paid to do violence so that the Trump supporters would look bad.
At that point the student recording the video asks:
Well, didn’t Proud Boys and Trump supporters, weren’t they the ones who broke into the Capitol?
The teacher quickly responds:
No! In fact, there’s video showing Trump supporters trying to stop the people breaking windows.
When asked about all the terrorists in MAGA hats the teacher responds:
Anybody can put on a MAGA hat. When they’re paid to be there and cause a riot, they want to make it look like Trump supporters, so they wear Trump hats and carry Trump flags. Does that make them Trump supporters? No.
The video goes on, with the teacher arguing with students who press her on the facts. The students do a good job of calling out the teacher’s dishonesty. And kudos to the student who had the good sense to record the interaction in order to hold the teacher responsible.
Bottom line: A Florida teacher has been fired after telling students that Antifa was responsible for the terrorist assault on the U.S. Capitol.
