FLOTUS Fail: Melania Trump is sad, not because people died as terrorists stormed the U.S. Capitol, but because “salacious gossip,” and “unwarranted personal attacks” are being lodged against her.
In a statement released by the White House, poor Melania laments:
I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me.
Business Insider reports:
First lady Melania Trump lashed out at her critics on Monday in a typo-ridden statement, her first public remarks since last Wednesday’s violent siege of the Capitol by her husband’s loyalists.
She expressed sympathy for the five people who died during or from injuries sustained amid the riot and named each, including the rioters who attempted to overthrow the government.
She misspelled the name of one rioter killed by Capitol Police and lifted a line from her speech last August at the Republican National Convention.
It comes after two of the first lady’s top aides resigned following the attempted coup.
More of Melania Trump’s statement via the White House:
As your First Lady, it has been inspiring to witness firsthand what the people of our great Nation will do for one another, especially when we are at our most vulnerable. With nearly every experience I have had, I found myself carrying many individual’s stories home with me in my heart.
Most recently, my heart goes out to: Air Force Veteran, Ashli Babbit, Benjamin Philips, Kevin Greeson, Rosanne Boyland, and Capitol Police Officers, Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood. I pray for their families comfort and strength during this difficult time.
I am disappointed and disheartened with what happened last week. I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me – from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda.
This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain.

Melania Trump finally issues statement on the US Capitol attack, but get this- makes herself the victim! The most useless First Lady in the history of First Ladies. pic.twitter.com/A7zivKn5Qm

It quite a feat to twist the events of last week’s horrific attack to make oneself the biggest victim. But somehow, Melania Trump found a way.

Quite an official statement from First Lady Melania Trump – typos, deceased rioters’ names listed in the same sentence as Sicknick’s and listed first, complaints about how she is being treated… https://t.co/3XkQgFFJAb pic.twitter.com/C2YI3lvCVL

It’s really touching that Melania Trump took time out of her day to issue a statement that complains about how she has been treated.
What a tremendous comfort to the families of the police officers that were injured and killed.

.@MELANIATRUMP expressed sympathy for 3 terrorists who died in the process of committing a crime, says she’s inspired to witness what MAGAts did for them, and condemned people for talking about her.

Bottom line: Melania Trump claims she’s the real victim after Trump-supporting terrorists stormed the U.S. Capitol.
