At SBL this year, I suggested to Mark Goodacre that NT Wrong ought to be maintained not as a single mysterious individual but more like a โfranchize.โ In a manner comparable to the famed Dread Pirate Roberts, the mantle of being Wrong could be something that might pass from individual to individual. That way the mystique of wondering who NT Wrong might be could be carried forward, and the saying might then prove to be true, that while all of us may be Wrong some of the time, no one is Wrong all the time.
Well, it seems that someone has caught wind of my idea and has established the NT Wrong franchise. Apparently they are now accepting applications. If you think you have what it takes to be the next NT Wrong, perhaps you should apply!
In the mean time, here is some wisdom from the Dread Pirate Wrong:
1. โThen he explained the name was the important thing for inspiring the necessary fear. You see, no one would surrender to the Dread Pirate West.โ
2. โOnce word leaks out that an anonymous blogger has gone soft, people begin to disobey you, and then itโs nothing but work, work, work, all the time.โ
3. โHave you ever considered anonymous biblioblogging? Youโd make a wonderful NT Wrong.โ
