Wisdom in Carnage

Wisdom in Carnage December 18, 2009

I’ll be frantically grading between now and next Tuesday, like so many others in academia. The best gem in an exam thus far was a student who wrote that the Gospel of John presents Jesus as “Wisdom in carnage.” I will assume that the student meant “Wisdom incarnate” – but you never know.

Elsewhere in the blogosphere, the “Poor Joseph” ad has been getting a lot of attention – the most recent is from Tana Ganeva (HT J. C. Baker) entitled “God’s Divine Sperm?“. Clever Badger has a new gig, having taken charge of the Debunking Creationism site (he gets the ball rolling with a post about Kent Hovind’s “doctoral dissertation” which famously begins with the words “Hello, my name is Kent Hovind“…).

There’s also a good post by A. J. Jacobs (author of The Year of Living Biblically) on whether it is important for everyone to know what’s in the Bible.

I’ve also integrated the Amazon Associates program into Blogger – a new feature they offer. It doesn’t just give you direct access to product links, but also updates the feature bar at the top of the blog post editing frame, in ways that so far have made a good first impression!
