Angels and Demons

Angels and Demons March 11, 2010

Angels & Demons (Single-Disc Theatrical Edition)I watched the movie Angels & Demons today, having read the book some years ago. As with The DaVinci Code, I felt the movie turned out better than the book in some ways in both cases. When I read the novel, I remember not only being annoyed that an excellent speech on religion and science had been placed on the lips of a character who turned out to be a psychopathic murderer, but feeling as though Dan Brown had waited until the end of the novel and then decided to pull the old stunt of finding a character we are unlikely to have suspected and create a back story to make him the murderer.

I presume that for all scholars who deal with ancient texts, the most heart-stopping moment in the movie was not when shots were being fired, nor when they drew near to a church as the next hour approached, but the moment when a page was torn from a unique historical document in the Vatican library!
