Arian Theology In Song

Arian Theology In Song
It is a historical fact that Arius popularized his theology by setting it to music. What may or may not be true is what a colleague told me today,ย namely that Ariusโ€™ most famous ditty was set to the tune of โ€œHead and Shoulders, Knees and Toes.โ€ The lyrics were as follows:

โ€œThere was once when he was not (he was not)

He was made and not begot (not begot)

So hang this sign on the weeping willow tree:

There was once when he was not (he was not)!!โ€

Readers who have never heard of Arius may benefit from the info card below (from Disseminary). Arian readers will probably want to collaborate on a YouTube recording of the song.
