Free Book Giveaway! Dale C. Allison’s Constructing Jesus!

By some good fortune I have ended up with two copies of Dale Allison’s new book, Constructing Jesus: Memory, Imagination, and History (Baker Academic, 2010). The publisher has said they are happy for me to give the book to another blogger to review, or to have a giveaway. Since many readers of this blog are themselves bloggers, and those who are not could still write a review on Amazon or some other such site, I soon realized that it is possible to do both. And so I will give the book away, with the understanding that the person who receives it should blog about it or review it.

But then I realized that, unlike other bloggers who have held such giveaways in the past, I didn’t have a creative, amusing and comical idea for a competition. What a conundrum!

Then it hit me what I should do, and here it is:
To enter the contest to receive a free copy of Constructing Jesus by Dale Allison, leave a comment proposing an idea for a future book-giveaway competition! In other words, propose the kind of contest or approach to a giveaway you’d like to see here the next time I have a book to give away. There is no limit to the number of entries you may submit, and they can be frivolous, or serious, or something else entirely.

I’ll then also solicit input on which ideas are the best (you’re not allowed to vote for your own) so that it is not only my own subjective decision – although at the end of the day, my decision (or that of any coins I find I need to flip to make up my mind) is final. Only complaints laced with humor, sarcasm and insults will be permitted after the decision has been made.

So begin submitting your proposals. Who knows, the next time I have an extra copy of a book, the contest I hold could very well be the one you propose!
