A New Commandment

A New Commandment January 28, 2014

  • ‘Tis actually an old suggestion not a commandment.
    Many have said it before.
Never taken seriously in Christianity, and would never survive there.
If Christians had liked the idea, they’d have added it the stories.

    • Commandments are rules in the Torah for which a person is killed if they disobey. People who believe the one above, would never thus want it classified as a commandment, but as a suggestions. The paradigms don’t match.

      • Well, there is in Gnostic Christianity an emphasis on the individual connecting directly with God and needing no one to teach them. Which is not the same thing as critical thinking, but it is clearly different from the sort of authoritarian approach that you mentioned.

        • Right, as long as they don’t follow the Tanakh, everything can be OK.
