Gamification in Higher Education #GenCon50 Presentation August 17, 2017

The next session I went to was by the inventors of a card game called Search and Destroy, available from The Game Crafter, which can be used to get students thinking and talking about database searches. It is a very cool concept. You draw cards with keywords and actually search in a database online to find them on your turn. You can add modifiers to your own search or others. I managed to knock another player out of the game who had keywords that included “Darwin,” “insect,” and “zombie” by playing a card on him that required his results to be peer reviewed… 🙂
