Larry Hurtado has posted the final installment in our blog conversation about monotheism and Christology. Let me express once again my appreciation for his willingness to engage in this discussion, which I certainly have found beneficial, and hope others have as well. Most importantly, I feel as though this discussion has helped me identify more clearly what precisely it is that Hurtado and I reach different conclusions about, thus clarifying in my mind as well the large extent to which we agree – largely due to Hurtado’s own seminal contributions to our understanding of first-century Jewish monotheism, to which all those working in this area are indebted, myself included.
