The Fog of War…

The Fog of War… December 12, 2013

Yep, here we are in the middle of December and as always, the War on Christmas is fully underway.

Due to the efforts of those evil atheists and secularists and their attacks on Christianity, saying the words Merry Christmas is now illegal, which forced the great state of Texas to pass a state law guaranteeing a person’s right to say Merry Christmas.

What’s that you say?  It’s never actually been illegal to say Merry Christmas anywhere?  But what about that time I went shopping and the clerk dared to wish me Happy Holidays?  This is Christian nation and clearly she should have been required to wish me Merry Christmas because as we all know, Jesus is the Reason for the Season and there would be no Christmas without Christ.  And lets not even mention the stores that dared to have a Happy Holidays sign up; we know who won’t be getting my retail dollars.

And what about all those atheists and secularists who are fighting to make sure no plastic Jesuses are allowed in our yards?  I’ve never actually seen anyone banned from putting a nativity scene, plastic or not, in their yard, but Sarah Palin says they did so it must be true.

What’s that you say?  Atheists and secularists don’t actually care what people put on their own private property for Christmas? So why do so many houses have only lights and Santas and snowmen and no baby Jesuses? Obviously, they should be required to put up nativity scenes because this is a Christian nation.

How about the fact the atheists and secularists have stripped the ability of schools to have the kids sing Christian Christmas songs in their schools’ Christmas pageants? When I go to a Christmas concert at my kid’s school, why am I forced to listen to songs about snowmen?  Why is my child singing about Rudolf and not Jesus?

What’s that you say?  Schools haven’t banned the singing of explicitly religious songs as long as they include secular holiday songs and even songs from other winter holiday traditions?  But why should secular songs and songs from other holidays even be included?  This is a Christian nation and Christmas is a Christian holiday so the kids should be singing Christmas music.

Okay, then, what’s this I hear about an Air Force base having to remove a nativity scene?  The Air Force exists to PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS and forcing anyone in the military to do without a nativity scene is DISRESPECT TO THE TROOPS!

What’s that you say?  That Air Force base is simply moving the display from an unauthorized location to the lawn of one of the chapels, where it should have been in the first place?  And that makes this okay? Our troops should have the right to put Christian symbols anywhere they please.  And please don’t tell me if Christians can do it, others should be able to do it, too, because this IS a CHRISTIAN nation.

And while we are at it, stop claiming the nonsense that winter holiday celebrations existed before Christmas.  Jesus is the REASON for the SEASON and that’s all that needs to be said about that.

So, MERRY CHRISTMAS, whether you like it or not…
