4) Some of Us are Extremely Selfish

ABC NEWS GO 2

I know my first point mentioned how awesome and beautiful America is, but it would be dishonest not to also mention some of the ugliness that occurred in the days leading up to Hurricane Irma making landfall in Florida. When I went to fill up gas at a gas station close to me I witnessed just how selfish people become in times of trials, tribulations and challenges. People’s tempers were short ( a lot of honking cars and arguments I witnessed between folks getting pissed about waiting and even cutting each other off) and people were pushy and rude. There were also shortages of gas, food and supplies in some stores which was a reminder of just how fragile our existence is and how dependent we are on grocery stores and convenience stores.

The chaos and heavy traffic I witnessed during the hurricane preparation of reminded me of the verses from the Quran that mention how the Day of Judgment is going to be with everyone running around in chaos and only concerned about themselves and their well-being.
