Throughout drug-riddled neighborhoods in South Africa, Carmen, who turned her own life around through drug education, brings hope to entire communities by leading a movement to provide information on the devastating effects of drugs.
“My main focus was on abused women and children,” Margro states. I found out that 98 percent of abuse stems from drugs, alcohol—some form of addiction. And that is when my interest sparked. If I could get to the bottom of it, we could really impact the fact that women and children are being abused every day. And that’s when my journey started. And I haven’t looked back since.”
