What do Scientologists Believe? March 27, 2022

Those new to Scientology often ask “What do Scientologists Believe’?

That question can leave Scientologists at a loss for words. That’s because, as Scientology ecclesiastical leader Mr. David Miscavige said when he launched the Scientology Network in 2018:

“Scientology is not just something you believe in, it’s something you do.”

In other words, Scientology is first and foremost a practical religion that helps provide answers and solutions to real-life problems.

However, there is a clear statement of beliefs Scientologists hold.

Scientologists believe in the principles expressed in the Creed of the Church of Scientology

Central to the Scientology religion is the Creed of the Church of Scientology. It was authored by L. Ron Hubbard shortly after founding Scientology. And it is a document that not only includes our fundamental beliefs but the God-given rights of every human being which Scientologists strive to uphold.

The creed dates to 1954. And it begins:

“We of the Church believe

That all men of whatever race, color or creed were created with equal rights.”

Scientology follows a long tradition of religious practice. Its roots lie in the deepest beliefs and aspirations of all great religions.

It draws on the wisdom of some 50,000 years. But Scientology is a new religion.  Indeed, one that has isolated fundamental laws of life and, for the first time. And L. Ron Hubbard developed a workable technology that can be applied to help people achieve a happier and more spiritual existence in the here and now.
