A Special Christmas Surprise from David Miscavige

“Twas the night before Christmas…

I’ll tell you a cute little story. We have some technical films in our Church. And they express various principles. So I’ve been lucky. And I have been asked to do some of those films.

But you audition and you get cast just like a regular film or TV show. So on one of the very first films….  I think it was the very first film that I was cast in. It was around Christmastime. Well, my husband and I went into a restaurant. And it turned out Mr. Miscavige was there with other executives. He was taking them out to dinner for Christmas dinner. And then he was going to take them to a musical. To the theater.

David Miscavige told me “You Got the Part”

Well, as soon as he saw us come in, he excused himself from his friends, he stood up and he came directly over to me. And he said, “You got the part. You were fantastic. You got the part.” And he grabbed my hand and shook my hand. I can’t tell you, it still gives me tears. You know it’s like, I’m thinking, “Oh my goodness, are you kidding me?” And he was just so enthusiastic and so real and so validating.

My husband and I went to sit down and have our dinner. But we were in another room. So when it was time to get the check we asked the waiter for the check. And he said, “Oh no, Mr. Miscavige already handled that.” We were like “What?” you know. So that’s just the kind of person he is. He thinks about other people. He makes you feel that you’re special. And to me that’s really the sign of greatness.
