So Many Books at LATC 2014, Jan 16 & 17

So Many Books at LATC 2014, Jan 16 & 17 January 2, 2014

In just a couple of weeks, Fuller Theological Seminary will be hosting the second annual Los Angeles Theology Conference: Advancing Trinitarian Theology. Oliver Crisp and I, along with Katya Covrett of Zondervan Academic, have planned this major event which is almost upon us. It’s on January 16 and 17, 2014. Register at the permanent home site, http://latheology.com/

Of course the main reason to come is the theological content: Five plenary speakers and nine parallel sessions presenting high-quality trinitarian theology.

But here’s another reason: books! Conference registrants will also have access to our exhibit hall, where theology publishers will have tables piled with their books, at a significant conference discount. Here are the exhibitors that are already registered:

Baker Publishing Group

Crossway

Eerdmans

InterVarsity Press Academic

Zondervan Academic

–more will probably be present as well! The exhibit hall is the buzzing center of activity at this conference, the place where all the conversations keep going in between the papers. Partly that’s because it’s centrally located and has some free snacks, partly it’s because the right publishers and editors show up, and partly it’s because, in addition to the speakers, LATC draws lots of other professional theologians and students who enliven the conversation.

In addition to these publishers, the Fuller bookstore will also be on hand in the exhibit hall with a number of books not carried by the publishers on site.

If you are on the fence about attending this year, get off and get registered. The Westin Hotel has a special rate for LATC attenders, and as anybody who saw the Rose Parade this weekend knows, Pasadena is a great place to be for a couple of days in January.
