When you get your “news” from right-wing websites like CNS News, you tend to have a misinformed view of reality. CNS News stands for Cybercast News Service and claims all over its website to be impartial, despite the former name it was founded as — Conservative News Service.
Case in point, I came across this tweet from Tom Cosner (@GeoCals), a self-proclaimed “Child of God,” according to his Twitter profile. In it, he links to a CNS article claiming FFRF’s complaint against a nativity scene on government property backfired. Actually, they were successful. Consequently, Tom runs a vinyl decal company that peddles Christian window stickers, making money from the outward displays of belief of its customers, despite Matthew chapter 6. Tom displays his lack of due diligence by claiming the FFRF, an organization dedicated to church/state separation, is trying to get all nativity scenes removed regardless of whether they’re on public or private property:
While many of us would love to see all religion gone based on the harm it does, the FFRF is in no way attempting to attack all religious displays. That’s nonsense perpetuated by the Religious Right. And Tom, you bought it hook, line, and sinker. Just another Christian who wants to play the victim and cry persecution. Your will does not usurp the US Constitution.
