About

Matthew Miller lives in Oregon where he works full time at a hospital doing critical care chaplaincy and bioethics.  He has a wife and a young son who are both Brazilian citizens.

Previously he spent seven years in the Dominican order where he studied philosophy and theology in preparation for solemn vows and the priesthood, though he left after feeling a call to the lay and married vocation.

Though trained in primarily in Thomistic philosophy and retaining a love and admiration for that tradition, he feels most at home reading the great skeptics like Sextus Empiricus, Cicero, Montaigne, and Pierre Charron.

He enjoys dancing Forró with his wife, chasing his boy around the house, trying new foods, discovering new music, and traveling to see in-laws in Brazil.
