Since the passing of Pope Francis and now with the election of Pope Leo XIV, I have had a lot to think about and reflect on. Pope Francis is still in our hearts, even to the point of still wanting to say his name. Most if not all Catholics and non-Catholics have great memories. For me, it was his embrace of humor and even inviting comedians from around the world for an audience about the importance plays in our lives.
Here is a video to get us started on how the Pope showed his funny side:
As you can see, the Pope always had a good nature about him. With someone like him, it’s very nice to see he likes to have fun. Sometimes when we see someone like the Holy Father have fun, we know we can too.
Comedy Stars and the Pope
Then there are the comedy stars who had a chance to meet Pope Francis, such as Conan O’Brien, Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Fallon and more.
Whoopi was so moved in meeting the pope that she felt like he was bringing her back to the church. Here is her description of it here:
Conan O’Brian was another one who had his own story about meeting Pope Francis:
I really think it’s great how much Pope Francis made a lasting impression on comedians. That’s a really special thing. Thank you Pope Francis for being open to the gift of comedy and letting us all know that even God has a sense of humor.
