Muslims communities won't change to fit in with UK society

Muslims communities won't change to fit in with UK society January 28, 2016

A former head of the UK Equality and Human rights Commission, Trevor Phillips, above, has incurred the wrath of Muslim groups by claiming that Muslim communities are ‘unlike others in Britain’ and ‘will not integrate in the same way.’
According to this report, Phillips, who was Chairman of the Commission between 2003 and 2012, told the Policy Exchange think tank that:

It was disrespectful to suppose that Muslim communities would change. Continuously pretending that a group is somehow eventually going to become like the rest of us is perhaps the deepest form of disrespect.

He went on to claim that we should accept that Muslims:

See the world differently from the rest of us.

He added said part of the integration process was:

For the rest of us to grasp that people aren’t going to change their views simply because we are constantly telling them that basically they should be like us.

His claims come just a few days after David Cameron announced people who do not pass an English test cannot stay in Britain, in a bid to close the cultural gap and bring those on the fringes of society into the mainstream.
The Prime Minster linked a failure to integrate into British society to an increased risk of terrorism.
Muslims make up five per cent of the UK’s population, with around 2.7 million currently living in Britain.
The Muslim Council of Britain said asking Muslims to change:

Assumes that Muslims are not equal, and not civilised enough to be part and parcel of British society, which they most certainly are.

Fiyaz Mughal, head of the Tell Mama charity which campaigns against Muslim hate crimes, said Phillips’ claims:

Assume Muslims have views that are inherently different to other communities. There are Muslims fully integrated into our society that have a ‘world view’ that is no different to others and the only difference is that they pray five times a day.

Phillips has previously caused outrage after he defended the Danish cartoons of the prophet Mohammed, by saying people should be able to offend each other.
He also branded multiculturalism as a failure, and said a black candidate cannot rise to the top in British politics because of institutional racism.

Do care nor want muslins to ‘change’ to fit in to society! Like the Amish they can keep their BS beliefs and the women can continue enjoying being property! BUT… If they are going to leave their sheltered conclaves and enter into our society then they WILL follow the same rules as everyone else.
Don’t like it! Stay home…hiding from reality!!
The english test thing sounds racist, as I don’t care if they speak english, but if they want anything from me they had better do so!

Muslim clerics have made a very encouraging declaration in Morocco, though how it all pans out remains to be seen:

  • Newspaniard

Their religion, through their hate book, commands that they do not befriend any non-muslim unless for personal gain. They are also commanded to kill the rest of us or collect protection money. Insult or not, islam is a fascist cult which will never integrate. Apostasy is the only answer short of actually settling elsewhere.

All I seem to hear these days are the demands, declarations, screams, shrieks, whinges, whines, complaints, bawls, protestations, bickerings, arguments and arrogant assertions of the muslims. Most have no intention of integration lest it be us who fit in with their primitive dogma and culture. They want all the advantages of living in inclusive civilised prosperous secular open and tolerant western society without paying the dues. Leeching on the blood of the host for sustinence and protection.

@Justin Badby : Muslim leaders know a soft touch when they find it. And they struck gold with us.

I have to agree with BROGA and JUSTIN BADBY. They’re takin advantage of an open democratic society, alright–to bend it to their will.!
The west is being suckered. :- (.

I have noticed that Trevor Phillips has changed his views since leaving the EHRC and now more readily accepts that minority groups do have a responsibility to try to fit in with the generality of UK society. It is a pity he did not realise this earlier but welcome nonetheless.

Deporting ‘muslim’ women because their owners prevent them from learning English isn’t reasonable.
Allowing the notion that Muslims’ aren’t a unified cultural monolith, defined by Saudi money and Salafist lunacy, just might be helpful.

  • No Muslim nation requires visitors or immigrants to follow Muslim law, so of course it’s only fair that Britain should not require visitors or immigrants to follow Western law.
Nah, just kidding. Tolerance and acceptance and diversity always only go one way.

“When in Rome”springs to mind, once again.Any group who follow a fascist ideology like Islam are dangerous, even the “peaceful majority” who, just like the peaceful majority of Germans did, fail to prevent the excesses of their violent minorities. The only way to ensure you are not regarded as part of the problem is to leave islam , show your disagreement with its fascist roots, become apostate and educate yourself about actual reality rather than a book of primitive garbage.Tolerance was the beginning of the fall of Rome, we need to modify it to conditional acceptance.
