Gay Pride 2015 attack: Yishai Shlissel convicted of murder

Gay Pride 2015 attack: Yishai Shlissel convicted of murder April 19, 2016

The ultra-Orthodox Jewish terrorist was found guilty today (Tuesday) by an Israeli court of murdering a 16-year-old girl at a Gay Pride parade in Jerusalem last year. He was also found guilty of six counts of attempted murder.
According to this report, the murderous attack by Shlissel led to harsh criticism of the Israeli police. Shlissel had been released from prison only three weeks before after serving a 10-year sentence for a similar attack on a 2005 Gay Pride march that left three people injured.
He had also posted a letter on the Internet speaking of the “abomination” of a Gay Pride parade being held in the Holy City and the need to stop it, even at the cost of one’s life.
Many questioned how Shlissel was allowed anywhere near the parade. The attack occurred in Jerusalem city centre as hundreds were participating in the march.
Six senior Israeli policemen were later removed from their posts over the attack.
When he was charged in court in August, Shlissel lashed out at homosexuality and mentioned the name of the 16-year-old girl who died: Shira Banki, above.

The pride parade must be stopped in order for the soul of Shira Banki to ascend to heaven. If you care for her well-being … you must stop cursing against God. The parade marchers are bringing great harm upon the nation of Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhau said at the time of last July’s attack that it had been:

A despicable hate crime. In Israel everyone, including the gay community, has the right to live in peace, and we will defend that right. I welcome the Israeli religious leadership’s condemnation of this terrible crime, and I call on all those in positions of leadership to denounce this contemptible act.

He added:

In the State of Israel, the individual’s freedom of choice is one of the country’s basic values. We need to ensure that every man and woman in Israel can live in security any way they choose. That is how we acted in the past, and how we will continue to act.

A witness at Shlissel’s trial told the court that he believed the assailant would have been shot on the spot if he had not been a Haredi Orthodox Jew, comparing the police’s response to the subsequent handling of knife attacks on Israelis by Palestinians which has seen scores of alleged assailants shot dead by Israeli security forces in a wave of violence since last October.

A month and a half later, every person who unsheathes a knife, they shoot him even after he ceases to present a threat to civilians.

What kind of treatment would a Palestinian have received. The maniac Shlissel should be locked up permanently.

  • L.Long

Another religious nutjob -motivated by his BS beliefs- demonstrated that his gawd is a helpless-harmless-useless pile of BS as gawd can’t do his own killing! But then again thru out the books o’BS he has never been able to kill directly, he always needed help!!!

  • There’s nothing more evil than religion…….

  • Newspaniard

If I was a psychiatrist, I would suggest that he had become institutionalized and would do anything to get back to his boyfriend. His barber also needs locking up.

  • This man did what his religion has done for its entire existence, right up to the present. In the present, there are some members of his religion that distort its teachings and refrain from murder. Which says how horrible his (and all other) religions are.

  • Just goes to show how dangerous Orthodox Judaism can be.

  • Will of the Isle

Is anyone really surpised at this … really? Par for the course as far as I can see. Give a lunatic divine authority and wait for the atrocity.
I say bring back the oubliette … toss him in and forget … let him rot whilst contemplating his religious beliefs.

I have just learned to master a cut-thoat razor to prove to myself that, if nothing else, I still have a pretty steady hand at 69. As I was using it earlier today the thought crossed my mind that nothing would give me greater pleasure than to be locked in a cell with Shlissel, the razor and a bucket of shaving foam.

    @Barry Duke
I empathise and completely understand where you’re coming from. But then you would be reducing yourself to his level. To the level of those who live their lives in a dreamworld where reality does not exist. To the level of those who know only hatered and know not love. In other words, to the level of the meantally ill. Rise above it my friend. Having said which, fuck the bastard. He deserves to rot in his imaginary hell.

He doesn’t recognize the government of Israel, as it doesn’t follow Torah Law:
Imprison Shlissel and throw away the shlissel (yiddish for key)
Some of the comments are unbelievable. I assume that they are genuine:
    He is a hero.
Maybe, Yishai Shlissel is a mental case, but just as well, he is a great Zealot for HaShem.
In any case: if his close up picture is published, I want to see the close up pictures of all! the Canaanite and Amalekite Terrorists, too.
Yishai earned his share in the World to come. He speaks the truth – Torah Emet!
He is a key to redemption.
To be honest I don’t know if he is right or wrong but I see one thing he sacrificed his life and soul twice for HaShem and our holy city…

One of the commenters links to the following, to which he optimistically refers as a “silver lining” (sort of, I suppose):

I think a better punishment would be if Mr. Shlissel was locked up in a prison full of horny young men. They would,of course, first have to remove his preposterous straggly beard in case he tried to strangle his would-be lovers with it. I’m not suggesting he should be made to endure male-on-male rape in prison, but some same-sex sex wouldn’t be a bad start and it might begin to unlock some of the apocalyptic fears he has of sexual love. Also I would ensure that a large picture of the girl he stabbed to death was permanently hung in his cell.
If ever proof was needed of the toxic, blinding effect religion can have, this guy is it.

Horribly, the whole ‘right of return’ nonsense means that Israel is stuck with a community of parasitic religious nuts, who pay no taxes, do no work, refuse military service, and regard the state that protects them as illegitimate, since only the Messiah can establish a State on that ground.
These creeps need to be compelled to live under civil law, in Israel and in New York. They make good company for Warren Jeffs and the Taliban. Though so far they aren’t QUITE as bloodthirsty

  • Bob

Perhaps he should be done for manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsiblity. What he did was wrong but I wonder if manslaughter would have been a more humane verdict.
@John – the “right of return” to Israel is in accordance with Biblical prophecy in Amos 9 v 14-15.

  • AgentCormac

The only reason you argue that this animal should have a lesser sentence is because deep down you agree with his motives – you think what he did is excusable.

  • Broga

@Bob: “What he did was wrong ……..” You make his brutal killing of a 16 year old girl sound like a misdemeanour. He is a savage. His brain turned toxic from the effects of religion. As indeed have millions of brains over the centuries and as it continues toda

  • barriejohn

Bob’s only in favour of a “more humane verdict” here because this murderer is a fanatical religious maniac; normally it’s a very different story. Of course, he’s scared stiff that if he says anything even mildly critical of Israel, his loving heavenly father will rain down pestilence and plague upon him, as promised in the Old Testament. What a fun guy he is!

A shining example of a deluded fool who actually believes he is doing his god’s work.

Angela: Who, Bob or Yosser Shithole?

  • Angela_K

Barriejohn, ha ha, very funny. I’m certain Bob and Yosser would make excellent bedfellows.
