Imam, convicted of sex offences, flees from the UK

Imam, convicted of sex offences, flees from the UK October 13, 2016

Hifiz Rahman, 58, above, vanished at the weekend after being found guilty of assaulting two girls at the Queens Cross Mosque in Dudley in the 1980s.
According to the BBC, he fled the UK for Bangladesh ahead of being sentenced.
Police said:

We are making urgent inquiries to try and arrange his return.

Rahman from Ballard Road, Netherton, did not attend the end of his trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court after claiming he was too ill and did not hear the jury’s verdicts.
Last week the Birmingham Mail reported that Rahman was arrested and charged after one of the girls, now aged 40, came forward to police in 2012.
The victim, who was between seven and eight years old at the time, told officers that the imam abused her on an almost daily basis while she was studying the Koran.
The investigation then uncovered a second victim.
DC Liz Skyte, from West Midlands Police ’s Public Protection Unit, said:

The abuse started with inappropriate touching but escalated to more serious assaults. The first complainant told us how the abuse happened almost daily but she never told anyone as due to his high standing in the community, she thought she would not be believed.
We’ve seen a significant increase in the number of historic cases we investigate – victims may only feel ready to talk about the abuse they suffered many years after the incidents and, whenever they do feel ready, the police and wider support services are here for them.

  • May this story prevent at least one child from a similar fate.

How many thousands of children are suffering in a similar manner in the UK from imams who wield such power against those who are fellow members of their barbaric death cult.

Sorry to go OT, but harping back to an earlier FT thread Trump has now come out with ‘Anybody of religion, I really think you have to vote for Donald Trump’. This after a member of Hilary Clinton’s team apparently sent emails disparaging catholicism. Quite frankly I’m sure many American people of religion will be voting for Trump anyway – after all, if they can fall for one set of patently transparent bullshit I don’t see why they can’t fall for another.

Such unusual behaviour for a “holy man”. Never have I come across such a thing in my entire life.
    Trevor Blake: You’ll be lucky!

A child abuser who runs away from justice.
Who wasn’t well enough to attend his trial.
    Must be a first.

Paul: I’m old enough to remember Ernest Saunders and his “Alzheimer’s”. He was the only person in human history to recover from the disease – after his trial. A miracle indeed!

  • chrsbol

Hindsight is wonderful they say and the police must be thinking…..Too ill to attend his end of trial? Ding ding ding ding maybe he was thinking of just f***ing off.
Is it safe to assume he still had his passport and why wasn’t he considered a fear of flight. This seems to happen far too often and then we have to negotiate his return at taxpayers expense.
@barriejohn. Ernest Saunders,I’d forgotten all about him (see what I did there). A miracle yes. Still going strong I think.

His fleeing shows all that his gawd is a powerless worthless pile of BS!!!! Its amazing how the religious idiots (ALL TYPES) really know that their gawd is powerless as they all seek the law & gov’mint to enforce and protect their delicate BS beliefs! And when they don’t, the holeyer than thous run off!!

“We are making urgent inquiries to try and arrange his return”
From Bangladesh? He should have been remanded in custody until the verdict.

  • Newspaniard

We don’t actually want him back and his dependents can p*ss off too. If he chooses to live in a sh*t hole rather than a British prison with all the luxuries that entails, BLOODY GOOD! He’ll probably be back with a different name demanding welfare and free housing before we know it.
Let’s think, “Have I upset enough left wing loonies today?” Hmmm…
