'Sinful' Trump is preferable to Clinton because he is a man

'Sinful' Trump is preferable to Clinton because he is a man October 12, 2016

A former US high school football coach-turned-evangelist Dave Daubenmire yesterday posted a video saying that Donald Trump’s bragging about sexually assaulting females should be of far less concern to Christians than the prospect of allowing a woman to become president.
Daubenmire, listed #607 in The Encyclopedia of American Loons, ranted:

Women and men may be equal but I think it’s pretty clear that the Bible teaches us that women should not be in authority over a man.

The founder of Pass The Salt Ministeries continued:

Here’s the point I’m making. With all that’s going on with Trump and everybody screaming and hollering about that, when is the last time your pastor stood up in the pulpit and said, ‘Hey, listen, we cannot vote for Hillary Clinton because women are not to have authority over men’?
If we want to follow the Bible, that would sure be a good place to start, wouldn’t it? Rather than worrying so much about the immorality of a sinful man, what about the biblical principle that when a woman rules over a man … it’s a sign of judgment of the Lord?

The encyclopedia points out that “coach” Daubenmire ran into some career trouble in the late 1990s for coercing his students to pray. He was sued by the American Civil Liberties Union, though his version is that:

ACLU relented and offered Coach an out of court settlement. God honored his stand and the ACLU backed off.

What happened, in fact, a court ordered Daubenmire to stop leading religious activities at school and that the school board paid an $18,000 settlement.
Pass the Salt is perhaps most famous for hosting the right wing conference “A Gathering of Eagles”, promoted as a “non-political event” designed to educate Christians about the great moral issues facing America such as The Gay Agenda, Abortion, Individual Liberty, Hate Crime Legislation, and “the religion of Secular Humanism”.
Daubenmire also runs something called “Minutemen United”, a group of people who disrupts church services to proclaim their homophobia
But Daubenmire asserts that he is:

Not homo-phobic. I’m not homo-hateful. I’m not homo-latent. I’m homo-nauseous. I really couldn’t care less where a man desires to put his appendage. But I’m sick of hearing about it. I’m sick of talking about it. I’m sick of it being force fed to me on TV.

The encyclopedia also points out:

He has repeatedly called on Obama to come clean and admit that he is gay (as well as admit that he is a socialist who is trying to destroy the economy and that he is not really a Christian; Obama is apparently also a sociopath). Then he complains that people say that he says stupid shit.

Daubenmire: great name for this clown. The Republican top brass, even while holding their noses, can’t stomach Trump.
If Trump wins you will need that nuclear bunker. Are there really enough fools in the USA to vote for him? Could be. I wouldn’t rule it out and the polls are still close.

  • AgentCormac

Daubenmire and Trump were clearly made for each other – they’re both as deranged as a box of frogs.

  • AgentCormac

And if you can stomach it, here’s a current BBC documentary about the kind of people that Daubenmire no doubt admires and hangs out with.

Dave Daubenmire – another imbecile getting more attention than he should.

Good link! I love the bit when Copeland says ‘I’m telling you right now God Almighty is head of this nation, not people! Jesus of Nazareth is Lord over the United States.’ And yet these are the same ‘birther’ people who tried to claim Obama couldn’t be head of state because they refuse to believe he was born in the USA. Unhinged, the lot of them.

  • tonye

To be honest I think both candidates are terrible human beings and it’s a pity there is no third option for the American voters.

  • Broga

-On the show, Copeland told viewers that God told him during a prayer that He has been dealing with politicians since biblical times and that America is God’s nation.-
Bloody hell! How much more deranged can they get?

I never understand why there are so many deeply religious people in the US.
May be our US friends can provide an insight?
Where does this all stem from? The US has decent universities, decent scientists. Our British society and education allows considerable tolerance and most children unless coerced and by this I mean from deeply ingrained family religion, hold views at relatively young ages, (i did), that the babble is a pretty stupid thing full of nonsense and if there is a gawd he doesn’t actually do much to help people and it makes little sense there be so many religions.

  • Dopey Dave Daubenmire is highly irrational. I find this trait truly unforgivable. Still, it would be far better for the United States to elect ‘sinful’ Trump as its President rather than the (let’s face it) mentally unstable Hillary Klingon. Mind you, she does have Bill as a husband….so perhaps her problems are only to be expected….(By the way, is she a drunk? She often stumbles, and her crazed eyes are constantly darting every-which-way.)

Why is this news? It’s what the Bible teaches (quite clearly), so the real question is: why don’t all Christians think as he does?

  • barriejohn

Broga: Kenneth Copeland is not considered deranged at all by many Americans. I think the following article may shed some light upon the subject:
I have mentioned British Israelism before, which takes this to extremes and, like Mormonism, attempts to trace the origins of white, Christian Europeans (and thus Americans) back to the Ancient Israelites. Even claiming that you are “the heirs of Abraham, by faith” is very close to this. This might be considered a harmless fantasy, but for the fact, as the above writer points out, that it gives them the idea that they have a “divine right” to go barnstorming around the world, dispensing justice and acting in God’s name (God wants what they want, naturally!). No one’s rights matter when they stand in the way of “God’s Will”.

@barriejohn: I think maybe the dinosaurs are the chosen species as they ruled the earth for 165 million years. Humans in our present form have only been here for 200,000 years and we look as if we could butt out before very long. I don’t think we are going to get to 165 million years.
Or maybe beetles are the chosen ones. When Huxley, Darwin’s defender, was asked what he had learned about the nature of God he said, “He has an inordinate love of beetles.”
The USA population is not remotely a contender.

Broga: I have proof that life has only existed on earth for about six thousand years (don’t ask!).

At last an opportunity to discuss the USA presidential election, in brief, of course. The Democrats must be really desperate to protect their criminal candidate when all they can find against him is some 10 year old videos with him, after he had had a few, discussing how high he can piss. May I remind (sensible) people that this kind of discussion happens whenever blokes all around the world, get together for a few pints. Do you think that when women get together under similar circumstances, discussions revolve around the weather? The hysteria that these tapes have generated reminds me of the “permanently offended” having a riot and killing people over a cartoon. All this bluster and yet criminal activities involving the destruction of 30,000 public documents doesn’t phase the Democrats candidate one bit. Cheeses, there has to be better alternative candidates, for both of them, among those independents who haven’t got millions to squander but who are honest (that will be a change) and willing to serve their country rather than themselves.

  • These foolish accusations against Mr Trump will merely be water up a duck’s arse to his millions of supporters. They couldn’t give a toss what he does, and will wisely vote for him anyhow. Trump, build that Wall!

  • AgentCormac

    Build the wall? Really?

  • L.Long

Another dimwitted xtian hypocrite!!!! JESUS FULFILLED THE OT SO OT LAWS ARE NOT VALID!!! This is stated by xtians!!! Then promptly ignored like everything else in their book o’BS! As a whole xtian look good only because ISIS is around! ISIS is the best friend xtians ever had!

Make a big enough stink and down come all the like-minded flies, bugs and cockroaches to feed from the mess. Will American politics ever recover from this pile of shit that’s been dumped on the public eye?

  • Laura Roberts

@tonye: it’s not that there’s no third option; my absentee ballot listed 22 candidates for President/Vice President! The issue is that alternative candidates rarely get any press coverage (this year only Libertarian Gary Johnson got significant air time) and they’re almost never included in debates. And of course, voters always feel compelled to choose the “lesser of two evils”.
@1859: IMO, America won’t recover until we get money out of politics. Clinton promised to try to do this but (a) I don’t think she’s sincere and (b) I doubt she would succeed even if she were. In other words, probably not in our lifetimes.

  • It really is.

How the founding fathers must be weeping in heaven.

  • barriejohn

To get any real change in America, you’d need to fill Congress with independents as well, and that’s NEVER going to happen!

If Hillary wins, we will need the nuclear bunkers, even more. She is demanding a ‘no-fly-zone’ in Syria, which will mean that the legitimate, elected, secular, Syrian government cannot defend their country from the US-UK-government-backed sectarian, islamist, jihadist, proxy-invaders, who Hillary Clinton has let loose in Syria, and Libya (and who the corrupt Islamist Saudis and Qataris have bank-rolled). This will lead to nuclear war against Russia.
As much as I detest Trump, Hillary is the bigger warmongering threat (even if she is a woman)
