Global protests against sex education take place today April 23, 2018

Driven by mainly by the Christian conviction that sex-education is bad, and that schoolkids should be kept ignorant, a bunch of ‘concerned’ parents are today staging ‘Sex Ed Sit Out’ protests in multiple US cities as well as Australia and the UK.
According to this Life Site report, the protest, originally launched by a few moms on social media who were troubled by the graphic nature of current sex education resources in schools, has grown into a global movement.

Parents are demanding to know why their children are being taught how to have anal and oral sex, masturbate one another, and question one’s gender.

Caryl Ayala, a former public school teacher and organiser of the Austin, Texas, protest, said:

We are uniting with parents across the globe to demand that our rights as parents be respected regarding the teaching of sexuality and sexual orientation. Hands off our kids!

School districts such as Rocklin, California, and Fairfax County, Virginia, have recently been the focus of news headlines because of controversial, “gender-bending” and graphic sex education and anti-bullying programmes which parents say they were not informed would be taught to their children, sometimes as young as five years old.

Elizabeth Johnston, above, the deranged Christian blogger known as The Activist Mommy, asked:

Why are our tax dollars going to pay for curriculums and resources that teach dangerous and promiscuous behaviors which most parents find morally abhorrent and the CDC has stated are a health risk? Furthermore, why aren’t administrators being transparent with parents about the content of sexuality resources? It’s as if they have something to hide. That should frighten parents everywhere.
Funding is dangled in front of the schools by special interest groups to push this propaganda, contingent upon the schools using their curriculum. There is no transparency with parents and downright deception being employed on the part of school administrators. Parents can’t opt their kids out of the sex ed and anti-bullying programmes when they don’t even know they exist and when they are being rolled out across the curriculum in multiple subject areas.

Education Chairman of the Indiana Liberty Coalition and one of the protest organizers, Rhonda Miller, stated:

Follow the money. Comprehensive sex ed is being rolled out across America, often sponsored by special interest LGBT groups like Human Rights Campaign, and disguised as anti-bullying programmes. If it’s not okay for special interest groups like the NRA to be buying classroom time to push their agenda, then how is it okay for HRC monies to be buying schools off to teach gender-bending ideology and anal sex tutorials?
We want school administrators to promise to cease all programmes which push graphic and radical LGBT gender-bending propaganda. We send our kids to school to learn reading, writing, science and history, not how to have sex without getting caught or inconvenienced. Stick to the biology of reproduction or we will pull our children out of schools permanently.

My daughter said one things that kept her virgin and not pregnant was at 6yrs old seeing a full on birth. When the woman’s vagina started to open and the huge baby head come out, she looked down and swore ” not out of this body is that coming out!!” She had sex & drug education starting in 1st grade all the way to 7th (then got to ‘merican schools) but those early years were important. No unwanted babies, no abortions, no drugs…unlike xtian teaching (which pushes people the wrong way).

The first lesson the OT teaches is that “thou shalt not” doesn’t work. The second is that ignorance doesn’t help anyone.

What I would like to know is how can someone marry an inanimate object could I get married to my camera as I am very found of it gives me a lot of pleasure I have spent a lot of money on it. What is a natural Family? The Christian fundy version of the family I expect.
On a more serious note These |kids who will not have a sex education or at least a proper one will be just adding to the Christians by having babies as they don’t know how to stop them. Sex and relationship teaching is as important as teaching science and maths. Oh hang on they don’t like that much either.

Well at least a camera exists. Aren’t catholic nuns supposed to be married to gawd?
    Things known to increase well being of a people;
    education-especially of girls,
    sex education,
All opposed somewhere by the religious and other people with evidence-free belief systems.

To return momentarily to a previous FT thread regarding the tragic case of Alfie Evans, it seems that today ‘supporters’ have tried to storm Alder Hey children’s hospital in Liverpool (their actions trapping an in-bound ambulance in traffic for 15 minutes).
Quite what they were hoping to achieve is, just like the way god apparently works, an absolute mystery to me. But the idiots at the Christian Legal Centre who are clearly stirring up this situation should be holding their heads in shame.
I’m originally from Liverpool myself so I know all about the ‘self-pity city’ label, which, like most stereotypical nomenclatures, has its origins in an element of truth. But just how this latest outpouring of public grief/angst/anger is going to help anyone other than the CLC is beyond me.
Perhaps Andrea Williams et al should consider the harm they are doing to everyone else at the hospital – including those trying to access emergency help for their children. Or better still, they should be arrested.

Here we go again: “Allowing marriage to be redefined is destroying our nation”. Could they give an example to back up this claim, please? On the other hand, I think we can see from the other side of the pond who really IS “destroying” their nation.
PS I agree that that term “the natural family” is meaningless twaddle, especially in light of Biblical examples (like Solomon, with seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines!).

PPS I’ve just read that people are going bananas over the fact that Royal Layabout Kate’s latest sprog has popped out on St George’s Day, thus ensuring that England is safe now! The Mash has its own take on this thrilling news:

  • Broga

barriejohn : the royal sprog will have a lifetime of freeloading, the best health care , endless entertainment in slaughtering wild animals and will be head of the largely defunct C. of E. This is known to the exploited as “dedicated service to his people.”
The royals are a manufactured part of the entertainment industry and their purpose is to deflect the voters from considering the extent to which they are being kept passive and exploited.

I thought nothing the Daily Mail did would surprise me any more, but then I read there are 19-NINETEEN-pages on this unremarkable birth in today’s edition. Is there really a market for this , even among Mail readers, or is it, as I suspect, a monumental piece of self-indulgence?

  • Broga

andym : If ever I indulge myself by thinking there is some hope for the human species that hope is destroyed by the adulation of the royals. When was there ever 19 pages about our wrecked environment? Or our obese and population with its epidemic of diabetes?
I have a friend, 16 stone and recently afflicted with diabetes. He said the encouraging aspect of his attending the packed diabetes clinic was that he was amongst the “slimmest” people there.

@andym: Paul Dacre knows what to do to get his knighthood. I bet his wife’s furious that she’s not “Lady Dacre” yet!
Gun salutes set to greet new baby (BBC News). I despair.
Meanwhile, according to Southend News Network, the new royal is to be named Leroy!

  • T

I suppose the nurses will have to sign the Official Secrets Act so that we can hear of the devoted couple’s sleepless nights.
Is the sprog a proper royal? Kate is a pleb. I think we need to get back to the old standards and insist on genuine blue bloods. Harry is going to make this worse with his choice? Are there no princesses left?

What’s a global protest? A few hundred people in 3 countries? I don’t think so.

Marriage! It’s an invention. We are apes, we have no soul, we cover our reality with a patina of what we think suggests our superiority. “Homo Deus” (brilliant book) makes clear that Darwin and evolution will never be accepted by the terrified believers because once you accept evolution, the soul has to be ditched.
The “moms” prefer fantastic nonsense in order to delude themselves that they have souls and are superior to the rest of life on this planet.
