Evangelicals who don’t support Donald Trump are ‘morons’

TRUMP, as the whole world knows, has a penchant for surrounding himself with Christian crackpots, and among his favourites is Robert Jeffress, above, pastor of First Baptist Dallas, who serves as one of his ‘spiritual advisers’.

Jeffress makes noises that Trump loves to hear – and this week the sycophantic pastor further endeared himself  to the vainglorious POTUS by ripping into evangelicals who don’t support Donald, calling them “morons” on a radio show hosted by Todd Starnes.

Let me say this as charitably as I can. These ‘Never Trump’ evangelicals are morons. They are absolutely spineless morons, and they cannot admit that they were wrong.

The bootlicker said he doesn’t understand why evangelicals, many of whom are opposed to abortion, wouldn’t support Trump.

Jeffress has often referred to Trump as:

The most pro-life president in history.

Yup, he’s so pro-life that this week he praised China’s use of capital punishment for drug dealers, suggesting that the US would deal better with narcotics trafficking if it put offenders to death.

Jeffress went on:

This is an issue of life and death. This is so black and white, so much about good versus evil. I don’t get it. It really goes to the core of who we are as a country and what kind of a country we have in the future, and if we can’t get this issue of life right, I just don’t know where we’re going to go down the road.

We cannot afford to be like German Christians who, in the rise of the evil reign of Adolf Hitler, just remained neutered. They remained silent. And you saw what happened there. I think there’s a similar wave of godlessness that is rising in our country right now, and we must push back against that tide.

Meanwhile, conservative commentator Ann Coulter, above, once an ardent supporter of Trump, said that:

The only national emergency is that our President is an idiot.

Coulter, who wrote the book In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome, is convinced the President’s declaration of a national emergency is a “scam,” and that he’ll never build the cement wall he vowed to erect.

Wonderful news that Ms. Coulter is back on her meds again.

  • Jeffress is another guy who should be forced to read some history books. Lots of German Christians either approved of the Nazis, or didn’t find them objectionable enough to consider taking any action against them. Of course given the right audience Jeffress would probably claim that because most Germans of the time were either Lutherans or Catholics they weren’t Real Christians.

I’m afraid I have to agree with Jeffress that evangelicals who don’t support Trump are morons.

…But not half as stupid as evangelicals who do support Trump!

Remove words 2-6 in the title.

Brilliant comment. The evidence is circumstantial but persuasive.

  • Broga

They may be morons but that is their basic state and supporting or not supporting the man/child Trump will not change that.
Trump, deficient in almost every quality he needs, is like a kid playing with fireworks and lighting them and not realising that there are sticks of dynamite in there.

Evangelicals All who don’t support Donald tRump are morons.
    There. Fixed it.

  • therealcie

I don’t care for the “joke” that being “on meds” implies “insanity.” Ann Coulter’s opinions are odious regardless of what medications she does or doesn’t take for whatever reason.

  • Well, it was time someone said this after them considering non supporters of the Duck “child-eating demons”,.

I am a pastor and writer that has chosen to respond to Robert Jeffress.

    I’ve written a blog titled,

You can read the article on our church website. The article also includes a call to action for our church and other Christians to pray for the peaceful removal of Donald Trump.

Ps, I am an evangelical that is licensed in the conservative Presbyterian Church of America. (PCA)

I am more than willing to speak on this topic.

    Don’t spoil our fun.

  • Broga

    Thanks. That does fix it.
Does he have any good points. I heard that he is a fan of the Archers. I have never listened myself but my wife listens and I hear comments about Grace, somewhere called Lower Loxley etc. That’s about the extent of my knowledge. I heard what seemed to be Trump saying “We need more Archers to make a better world.” Carrying the news to my wife she made two comments: 1. It must be fake news and 2. That really puts me off the Archers.

  • Broga

Sometimes we can slip into being too serious or literal. I thought the comment was funny.

  • Broga

Commenting on this site gets a bit complicated at times as we approach subjects from different perspectives formed by our very different locations and backgrounds. I live on the “Edge of the known world” as the Romans called it i.e. the far Western Coast of the UK. So it would be impractical to speak in this area where there are many farms and widely separated and a sparse population.

Apart from that, and as an atheist, I am pleased about anything you can do to remove Trump. From my perspective I don’t think prayer will help as I see prayer as “Asking an omniscient Being to change its mind.” But give it a try and the very best of luck. You sound like a good man.

PS I was christened in a Presbyterian Church but I don’t know whether that would get me into heaven or perhaps the key to entry is removed because I don’t believe in God. I like Zen Buddhism but I don’t think that would get me admitted.

    Good luck.

Ann, is Trump awesome or an idiot? I believe he’s an awesome idiot.
If you can take everything the Jefress said and swap supporters and nonsupporters then it’s true. He’s as deranged as Trump.

  • Cali Ron

I don’t support your religious beliefs, but I applaud your morality and integrity. I know there are plenty of evangelicals who don’t support Trump, but are intimidated by their religious leaders. They also need to speak out.

  • Church For Black Men

Thank for your kind response. It is my hope, that we can find common ground in opposing what we both see as amoral. I’m always available to speak and dialogue. https://www.blackmen.church/single-post/2019/02/14/95-THESES-REMIXED—25-QUESTIONS-FOR-PASTOR-ROBERT-JEFFRESS-OF-FIRST-BAPTIST-DALLAS-TO-ANSWER-PUBLICLY-OR-RESIGN

  • Church For Black Men

Thank you Cali. I appreciate that and I’m always willing to cordially diaologue and seek to find common ground.
