IDAHO Republican senator Larry Craig, darling of the America’s religious Right, has resigned following his arrest and subsequent conviction for soliciting sex from an undercover police officer in an airport bathroom Craig’s resignation completed a stunning downfall that began last Monday with the disclosure that he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge after his arrest during an undercover police vice operation in an airport men’s room in Minneapolis, Minnesota. C’MON, I thought, this just HAS to be a joke. But no, the “recipe” for properly disposing of a bible on a “how to” website appears to be completely genuine. According to Wikihow: In the middle ages it was a deadly sin to dispose of a bible in any way, but in modern times there is a very defined procedure that very few people know about because disposing of a bible is so rare. You will need a few things… Read more

A NEW, Vatican-approved charter flight service leaves little doubt about what its clients are doing at 30,000 feet: “I Search for Your Face, Oh Lord” is the slogan of Mistral Air, set up to fly the deluded to and from a variety of ‘holy’ shrines around the world. But the faces of passengers returning to Rome from Lourdes this week were both angry and glum when the “faith flight” officials flatly refused to allow them to bring “holy” water on… Read more

IRANIAN President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that “Zionists” were behind a cartoon in Swedish newspaper Nerikes Allehanda, which depicted the head of the Prophet Mohammed on a dog’s body. The drawing sparked an official protest by Tehran to Stockholm. “They do not want the Swedish government to be a friend of other nations. I strongly believe they are behind it (the cartoon). They thrive on conflict and war,” he said. The claim came during a tirade against Israel, in which… Read more

According to an International Herald Tribune report, at least one of the balls carried a small picture of the Saudi Arabian flag. The flag features in Arabic script the Islamic declaration of faith, which contains the words Allah and the Prophet Mohammad. Villagers were “upset and angry” when… Read more

The National Secular Society’s “Certificate of De-baptism” has now been accessed 100,000 times since it was put up on the web 5 years ago. Although the certificate has no legal significance, it has obviously taken the fancy of many people, particularly Catholics, who want to make a formal split from the religion they were baptised into as babes in arms. Terry Sanderson, president of the National Secular Society, said: The growing amount of interest in the concept of de-baptism indicates… Read more

MUSLIMS may hate everything Israeli – but they are fast growing addicted to kosher Hebrew porn. According to a number of reports this week, Israeli erotic sites are proving enormously successful among Internet surfers in Arab countries. “We notice on our servers that thousands of users live in Muslim states with which we don’t even have diplomatic relations,” Nir Shahar, who manages one of the most visited Israeli websites with erotic content, told an Israeli journalist. Up to 10 percent… Read more

MALAYSIA has shut down a newspaper for a month after it published a picture of Jesus holding a cigarette and what appears to be a can of beer. Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi himself stepped in this week to admonish the editors of Makkal Osai, a Tamil-language paper. The country’s publishing laws allow politicians to close any publication without judicial approval. Christians who complained about the picture say they are bemused as they had accepted the paper’s apology. Sensing perhaps that… Read more
