Father Don Calloway to speak at Catholic Men’s Conference

Father Don Calloway to speak at Catholic Men’s Conference February 26, 2025

Can your life change in one day? It did for Donald Calloway. Calloway didn’t grow up in a Christian household. As a matter of fact, he was a high school dropout who used drugs, was incarcerated, and spent time in rehabilitation programs. Fast forward to 2025. That troubled young man is now a Catholic priest, known as Father Donald Calloway. At the age of 52 he’s an internationally renowned Catholic speaker and author. Men from throughout the Diocese of Tucson are cordially invited to attend the annual Men’s Conference at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Miami on March 15.

Calloway, who never misses an opportunity to hit men with what he calls the “divine two-by-four,” will offer two presentations at the Catholic church in Gila County. Calloway told the New Outlook, “I think it’s a good idea for men, young and old, to kind of get back to the basics. To go back to boot camp 101 with this understanding of who they are, what they’re meant to be.” Calloway explained that secular society often puts a lot of pressure on men to search for more, but the false direction can often lead to heartache, “All men want to be happy. We want to have a fulfilling life but the ‘more’ is where God comes in and says, ‘Yes, I’m calling you to that. Not a self-centered life.”

His talks, Calloway says, will focus on Saint Joseph by helping men find their strength and live in virtuous and holy ways, “There’s a craving inside every man, I think, he wants to be something more. He wants to leave a legacy that’s extraordinary.”  Calloway said his rock bottom sent him searching, which led him to a book about the Virgin Mary, “The truth hit me so hard that I couldn’t run away from it. I realized, ‘You know what, this is true. You can’t have so many millions of people around the world ascribe to this and believe this creed. There can’t be this many lunatics on the planet. I think I’m the lunatic and I think I’m the guy who’s crazy,’ so yeah, God hit me hard.” Calloway said he was immediately met with gifts of repentance, mercy, and love.

Calloway is the Vicar Provincial of the Marian Fathers, of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. Though he hasn’t been to Miami he’s looking forward to sharing in fellowship and brotherhood where he can share his message, “It wasn’t until I discovered the eternal things that I realized that I could really make an impact on the temporal things, that’s what I’m striving to do in a good way.”

And that’s his prayer for the men who attend the conference at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Miami, “It has the potential to change your life and redirect you to do better things.”
