Happy New Year Patheos Friends! Welcome to a brand-new year of unlimited possibilities! Welcome to a brand-new year of mission! Welcome to a brand-new year of purpose! Welcome to a brand-new year of growth! Welcome to a brand-new year of new things! January is a celebratory month for many reasons- one been a brand-new year. And among other things, there are observations and celebrations this month. A happy birthday blessing to everyone with a birthday this month.

Bear with me friends, this is a rather short post to what you are accustomed to. This post is to ring in the new year with you. This year 2026 is a special one for our nation as we celebrate 250 years of American exceptionalism. One of the exceptionalisms we have is the Bill of Rights. These rights have shaped the everyday lives of Americans and protect people from government over-reach in all forms.

Followers of Christ often take for granted that here in the USA, we can assemble freely to pray. We can preach the gospel freely. We can read the Bible freely, even in public. That is not the case for many followers of Christ around the world. We have seen the recent atrocities persecuting Christians in Nigeria, India, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Bangladesh and Syria. We are blessed as a nation with one of the rarest faith freedoms in the world.

As we start a new year, let these anti-Christian happenings around the world be a nudge for followers of Christ to be about our heavenly Father’s kingdom. Let us be about what the Bible commands us in Matthew 9:35-38; “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

God has blessed us with this year. Now, let us make the year count for eternal purposes. May God’s name be glorified by every follower of Christ this year. May God’s kingdom be impacted by every follower of Christ this year. May this year find every follower of Christ conformed to Christlikeness as never before. Grateful for the privilege of serving you and walking with you on your spiritual journeys. It is an honor! Looking forward to all God will do this year. Happy New Year!
