Danette Wilson (Outside the Circle) Moon Magick by D.J. Conway. It’s filled with all kinds of awesome and I still pull it out. It follows the year by month and has all the names of each moon, lore on so many celebrations around the globe, and includes info on so many Gods and Goddesses! This has started much research on my part, as I found it a jumping point to say knowing so much more about Hecate or wanting to dive into Greek myths or Babylonian history. It also includes spells and rituals for all moon phases.

Yeah, I'm surprised to see this here too!

My other book was by Anton Lavey- The Satanic Bible. I graduated in ’76, so this baby dispelled all the misconceptions about Satanists and the Satanic panic. I still had to hide it so my folks wouldn’t find out. Of course Mom found it. The Satanic tenets and commandments still make sense today. And I’ve met some amazingly interesting Satanists as well.

Notions & Potions: A Safe Practical Guide to Creating Magic & Miracles by Susan Bowes.

This was the hardest book cover to find.

Bekah Carman (Hearth Witch Down Under) I think, if we are not including my Encyclopedia of Mythology.… It was Notions and Potions: A Safe Practical Guide to Creating Magic and Miracles, by Susan Bowes. I still have this book and I still like it, though I don’t really refer to it any more. It is full of those little bits and pieces of information on things like colour magic, candle magic, the elements and directions, seasons and sabbats, planetary correspondences, herb and oils info, runes and a whole heap of things like that. It also has things like casting a circle and other basics.

I was able to learn all those things that are basically essential for witchcraft, all the basics and some other bits and pieces. No matter how many witchy books I got after that one, I always referred back to that one regularly – well, until I had memorised all of it anyway. The main problem of course was the lack of southern hemisphere information.
