Humanists Join Other Civil Rights Groups in Support of NO BAN Act April 9, 2019

This from the American Humanist Association

The American Humanist Association is pleased to be an official endorsing organization of the NO BAN Act, a bill to repeal the discriminatory Muslim ban and prevent any such future unconstitutional bans.

The National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants Act will be introduced in both chambers of Congress on Wednesday, April 10, by Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) and Representative Judy Chu (D-CA). Today’s letter continues to draw attention to this critical issue.

“Trump’s discriminatory actions damaged many families as well as the national economy,” explained Roy Speckhardt, American Humanist Association executive director. “We are proud to band together in support of this critical piece of civil rights legislation, protecting the rights of all.”

“We’re joining nearly 400 other organizations in countering the administration’s bigoted policies with real, progressive action,” said Rachel Deitch, social justice coordinator at the American Humanist Association.
