A group of us from college are all turning 30 next year and we have come up with a collective idea on how to celebrate. We thought we would extend the invitation to you all, EVEN those who are not turning 30.
Since most of us have more than enough THINGS in our lives we decided NOT to ask for presents next year. Instead, we are turning our 30th Birthdays into the
3o Ts: That is Time/Treasure/Talent 30 times over.
What do we mean? We are going to choose a time-raiser/treasure-raiser/talent-raiser for a favorite charity during our birthday month. We want each person to get really creative in what they want to do, so if you are a photographer, volunteer your photography skills for charity during your birthday month. If you would like to participate in 2008 here are
The Rules:
1) The 30Ts activity begins on the first day of your birthday month and ends on the last day. Those born in February, sorry!
2)Choose a Charity to give to and make it your goal to have your birthday age honored in the donation. So, if you are doing a blood drive, make a goal of 30 pints or 60 pints, if a cash donation, $30 checks written by 30 people, you get the idea. Are their injured soldiers in your area in need of some help? Maybe 30 hours of volunteer time by 30 people?
3) You may request the help from as many people as possible. The more the merrier.

5) What is the overall purpose? We feel we have been exceptionally blessed by God, especially because He has allowed us 30 years of life that many people do not get. We want to spread our joy with others. THIS IS NOT a competition, but I think it would be wonderful to see the ideas from around the country (and world for my intern’l readers).
6)Email me if you want to participate. I know it will take time to think of an idea, but that doesn’t matter. Just let me know if you even want to participate and your geographical location so I can post. Then, when you know more info I will post the info and the link. When your birthday month has concluded, let us know how much you raised, what you did, what impact on the community you had, etc.
