“For all the people.”

“For all the people.”

Yesterday, after communion, I asked my three-year-old who he wanted to pray for. Usually he offers a cute litany of people we know and most of the animals at the zoo. But this time he broke from tradition.  He said, “For all the people.” I asked him if he meant all the people (to make sure he was really saying it with some intention) and he replied in his sing-song-inflected voice: “Yaaa. All the people.”
