How Does Ha’Av Connect The DOJ & Tornadoes?

How Does Ha’Av Connect The DOJ & Tornadoes? 2025-03-16T19:23:27-04:00

Late this week, the big news was that President Trump was visiting the Department of Justice building. For decades there has been a standing policy where presidents did not visit the DOJ to keep from blurring the line between the White House and the Justice Department.

The Department of Justice‘s role in government is to uphold the rule of law in America; presidents are not in control of the department. While visiting, Pres. Trump gave a speech suggesting that those who investigated him for his crimes should be fired and possibly imprisoned for doing their constitutional job.

Once again Pres. Trump has proven he is neither conservative nor a Christian. He plays by his own rules instead of obeying the Constitution and the rule of law.

  • Disregard for our laws
  • Power-hungry
  • Out for revenge

Pres. Trump’s political flexing has only contributed to his declining support and poll numbers, even within his base. Hopefully many are realizing that getting what they want isn’t necessarily best for America. President Trump’s thirst for revenge and power will not make America great, it will divide and weaken the union.

Ever since God called His people out of Egypt, God has commanded them not to seek revenge and to let God bring justice to His people (Exodus 23:3-6; Deuteronomy 32:35.) God’s people should understand only our heavenly Father is just. God’s people are called to trust God is a just Father (Malachi 2:10; James 5:1-7.)

What Is a Father

Fathers play an important role in the family and society. Fathers can be good or bad. A father is defined as, “A male parent or a man who has begotten a child; God.”

Years ago I learned the spiritual importance of fathers being present and leading families to God. Biblically, fathers are the spiritual head of the household (Joshua 24:15, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4, Colossians 3:21.)

There is also an understanding that God is the Father of creation and as the creation, we follow and obey God (Genesis 1:26-27.) Christianity teaches about God the Father being part of the triune God.

Originally mankind was the children of God; Satan led Adam and Eve stray away from our heavenly Father (Genesis 3:1-7.) Once we come to Jesus, we again become children of God and joint heirs with Him in the Kingdom of God (Romans 8:14-17, 2 Corinthians 6:18, Galatians 4:5-7, Ephesians 4:6 1 John 3:1.) The apostles remembered their Jewish education about God being the Father of His people.

Ha’Av

The Torah first explains God as the Creator because God is the Father of His creation and His people (Genesis 1:1-6.) God called His children to be different from the fallen world that resulted from the sin of Adam and Eve in the garden (Leviticus 19:2 Deuteronomy 7:6.)

Like a loving father, God laid claim to His household and people. The Hebrew word in the Old Testament for father is Av and it can also mean, “Ancestor, forefather, households, or grandfather,” depending on the context it is used in.

One of the earliest Hebrew names for God is Ha’Av and it simply means the Father. God loves and represents a supreme Father. Because of a father’s role, Judaism emphasizes the need for fathers and their leadership in the household.

  • Helping find a spouse

It’s no wonder the New Testament places a lot of emphasis on Jesus’ relationship with His Father (John 1:14-18; 14:10, Romans 1:4, 1 Corinthians 8:6, 1 Peter 1:3.) Jesus obeyed His Father and did what His Father was doing (John 5:19; 10:30; 14:28.)

We too are called to obey Him and do what God does if we are children of the light (Matthew 5:48, John 14:21, Ephesians 5:1.) That is why Jesus taught His followers to deny themselves daily, we cannot be the children of God and keep doing whatever we want and not suffer the consequences (Matthew 16:24, Galatians 2:20.)

Jesus even rebuked the Pharisees for not doing what God said, instead doing what their father does (John 8:44.)

Tornadoes

This weekend the South has been devastated by severe weather and tornadoes. As I write this there have been 37 confirmed deaths in the South due to tornadoes and severe weather.

As the Creator of the earth, God’s power and control over the weather is well documented, even Jesus controlled storms and winds (Job 37:10-13, Psalm 135:6-7, Jeremiah 10:13, Matthew 8:26-27.)

This severe weather and tornado outbreak is a clear act of God’s sovereign will. God the Father has used the weather to punish and bring judgment on both the lost and saved before (Deuteronomy 11:17.)

Jesus warned us that in the last days extreme weather events will increase as a sign of the near end of this earthly kingdom (Luke 21:9-11.)

  • Wars
  • Extreme weather events

Jesus made it clear to His Disciples that these are only the beginning of God’s judgment on the world (Matthew 24:3-14.) Things will get worse as God brings justice to this corrupt world.

Before you start throwing stones at the world or Democrats, let me remind you God’s judgment starts with the Household of God (Jeremiah 25:29, 1 Peter 4:17.) This is why God’s people must listen only to the voice of Ha’Av!
