What Does Elohim Mean For Early Voting and Immigrants? 2024-10-17T21:42:18-04:00

This week’s big news so far has been the kick-off of early voting in some states. Minnesota, North Dakota, and Arizona are some of the states where voting in person has already begun for this presidential cycle.

Both Georgia and Tennessee have seen record-breaking turnouts for early voting. People want to see change in America and vote for issues that matter most to them.

  • Economy
  • Abortion
  • War policy
  • Border crisis

Unfortunately, many conservatives and Christians aren’t planning to vote this year because they aren’t satisfied with either candidate for the presidential race. Again, it is down to picking the lesser of two evils, which means our choice is evil either way.

Like me, they are confused about how we got to this point in the first place, especially within the conservative party. Conservatives traditionally support Christian candidates who have conservative beliefs, morals, and lifestyles.

However, in recent years the conservative party has shifted from biblical values to a worldly pursuit of power and earthly greatness. It is no longer a vote between good and evil, it is a vote for whatever makes us the happiest or most comfortable (Romans 12:2.)

What is a vote and does it matter?

Voting is a basic right of Americans. Voting means, “To choose, endorse, defeat or authorize.” Americans tend to vote for candidates whose beliefs align with their goals and ideals.

It is a fundamental American privilege to vote however we choose, we are not obligated to vote one way or another because we are a free nation and don’t submit to a dictator or authoritarian figure.

In this political cycle, the conservative candidate has called for revenge against anyone who defies him or his agenda. As a constitutional republic, we are the nation of the people for the people, not any individual or only one political party.

The conservative candidate has also proclaimed that he is the only one who can save America and protect the people, at its core that is blasphemy to God’s people who belong to God alone.

We the People in the Constitution.

Bob Brenner explains, “To some that means to be a real Christian, you must be a Republican. ‘That is heresy says Dobson.” Ed Dobson was the former leader of the Moral Majority.

God doesn’t create Heaven for a political party or a specific race, he creates it for His people who come from every race, nation, and tribe (Revelation 7:9; 14:6.) God’s people understand that only He can save them and He is the bridegroom of the church (John 3:16, Romans 6:23, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Galatians 3:20, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Peter 3:18.)  The Apostles remembered their Jewish education about the one true and mighty God Whom can save them.

Elohim

The ancient world had many different gods. Entire nations belonged to and worshiped specific deities. That is why Israel was set apart to the One true God (Leviticus 19:2, Deuteronomy 7:6.) The most common Hebrew name for God in the Old Testament is Elohim which most people believe means, “Mighty One.”

In the ancient world, it was common for prophets and priests to put their gods to the test. Nations enjoyed boasting and showing off their power. However, it was forbidden for Israel to put God to the test (Deuteronomy 6:16.)

God often tested His people (Deuteronomy 8:2- 3, Psalm 11:4-5, Isaiah 48:10.) The prophets also called for God to fight against the foreign gods of the other nations who battled against Israel.

  1. Baal Meon
  2. Osiris
  3. Isis
  4. Horus
  5. Seth
  6. Ptah
  7. Re

This devotion to the One true God continues into the New Testament. Jesus is called the name above all other names because of His sovereignty (Isaiah 9:6, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Philippians 2:9-11, Revelation 5:12.)

Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Israel’s promised Messiah (Isaiah 7:14, Zachariah 9:9.) Yet, Jesus was rejected by His own people. Jesus was an outcast and a foreigner amongst the people of this world (Matthew 2:13-15; 8:20.)

He taught that His kingdom isn’t of this world (John 18:36, 1 Thessalonians 2:12.) If you belong to God, then this world is not your home, you are a temporary immigrant (1 Peter 2:16.)

Immigrants

Throughout the Bible, we see God’s people as outcasts, foreigners, and exiles. Physically and spiritually they aren’t of this world (Romans 12:2.) As God’s people our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20- 21.)

We are all immigrants in America, yet for some reason many conservatives despise immigrants who are in this country both legally and illegally. The Bible places a special emphasis on caring for foreigners and exiles.

There are no “Illegal” or “legal” immigrants in the Bible. We are simply told to care for and take care of the foreigners and the least of these amongst us (Leviticus 19:34; 24:22, Deuteronomy 10:19, Matthew 25:35.) It is evil to vilify immigrants as criminals and it is hypocritical to reject them, yet endorse a candidate who is married to an immigrant and himself is a career criminal and felon.

  • Sexual assault

  • Traitor

We can’t make this stuff up, a criminal who is married to an immigrant wants to save us from immigrants and deport immigrants. He’s admitted to wanting to be a dictator because he is addicted to earthly power and greatness.

Everything about the conservative candidate for president is the opposite of Jesus and our conservative values. Yet somehow the liberal candidate is the ultimate evil? That is why God’s people must only choose and bow to Elohim!
