Is this thing still on? January 27, 2017

Hey everybody. 🙂

It’s been a while. That’s for a number of reasons, part of which was waiting on the new artwork for the blog. Bask in vivid cheer of all those bright colors.

So let’s face it, political discourse has become toxic. Not everybody is guilty of this, but on the whole that’s been the trend for a while now. It used to be that if you were passionate about a atheism or social justice and wanted to help, you just…did. We knew that everybody was coming from a different starting point. They may not know all the jargon, but it didn’t matter. All we cared about was that they shared our vision for a better world.

Now…that’s changed. I guess I just lost faith in humanity, as this seemed to be a problem that transcended political or religious alliances. I stopped seeing the productiveness of participating in those discussions. I still like making sure I’m staying informed everyday, but I stopped believing that enough people were willing to play with intellectual fairness.

So, once again, I’ve had to decide a new direction for my blog. I’ll still post political/religious stuff, but I think I need to make the blog more of a reflection of me, which means there will also be pieces about things my wife does that make me smile, singing, video games, and more. As an atheist, I know I only get one crack at life, and I need to put more of an emphasis on staying happy with mine. That means less interacting with people online.

I realize this may not appeal to everybody, and that’s ok. One of my new resolutions is to never look at my blog traffic again. 🙂  Thankfully, I’m at a place where I don’t need blog income anymore, so any I get is just a bonus. I’ll use it to take the wife out to dinner.

If that’s something you want to hang around for, great! But either way, I’m back. 🙂
