What Christian Denominations Believe in Salvation by Works?
Saved by grace or works or both? One of the major tensions between Protestantism and other faith-traditions (like Roman Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy) is the degree to which the sacramental life is “necessary” for salvation. From the days of the Reformation onward, many Protestant denominations rejected the notion that obedience to commandments or engagement in sacraments were, in any way , necessary to receive salvation.
