The 7 Types of Catholic Confessions

Most Catholics picture confession as being a solemn and serious time. They come to the priest to lay their sins before God and to receive forgiveness for their transgressions. They do not think of the confessional as a place where bizarre things happen that leave the priest fighting back laughter at the antics of their parishioners. Nevertheless, priests see and hear some strange things when they are sitting in the confessional. Catholics know what is expected of them before they go to confession, and they know what to do once they are in the actual confessional. This set ritual does not, however, prevent some Catholics from doing some unusual things during confession. The odds are good that every priest has experienced something a bit odd in a confessional. The same strangeness may not have been experienced by each priest, but they probably have seen at least one of these seven types of Catholic confessions that are more than a bit odd.
