"Anonymous Admission"
Confessions are confidential to the point that what is said in a confessional booth is protected by law. Even if a Catholic admits to committing a crime, the fact that it was said during confession means it is not admissible as evidence in a court case. That said, there are still those Catholics who do not want even the priest to know who is admitting to spreading rumors about another parishioner’s suspiciously rushed wedding, and doesn’t she look like she has gained some pre-wedding weight? Interesting it’s all around her middle, right?
Some Catholics will go to extraordinary lengths to be anonymous. They may wear sunglasses, a huge coat, cover their hair, put on a false accent or drive 30 minutes to go to another church. Occasionally they might do all of the above, in which case the priest is going to be wondering why the villain from a bad spy movie is sitting in their confessional.
